40-tonne crane at lofty heights

In late April and early May, Bau-Trans was commissioned by the City of Dornbirn to carry out crane jobs in the framework of the Karren cable car's mountain restaurant’s alteration using a 40 tonnes city crane.

The 40-tonne crane, however, had to reach the summit station via a challenging mountain road. Once it had arrived there, it was used to disassemble the construction crane and to lift the glazing elements into place. Once all work was completed, the crane was ready to head back down to the valley floor.
